Payment and Cancellation Policy
A tentative booking for a boat charter, fishing/hunting guide, or accomodation at the Captain's Lodge can be made for a date/dates. If we get another enquiry for the day, we will call you first to find out if you wish to confirm your booking. This can be done by payment of a deposit or the amount in full within five days. No booking becomes definite until this transaction is complete.Payment:
Chartering / Hiring Fishing Boats and Guides: a $500 deposit is required to secure charter boats & trout/hunting guides. The balance is to be paid on the day of your arrival.
Accomodation:A 50 % deposit is required to secure an accomodation booking
Our Methods of Payment:
*We accept Visa or Mastercard via our secure payment form via the 'Booking Form' on our website.
*Credit card details can also be given by phone.(All credit card documentation received by us is shredded at completion of service.)
*Telegraphic Bank Transfer or Direct Credit. We will send you our bank account details on request.
*If resident in New Zealand you can send a cheque or bank draft made payable to Blue Ocean Charters Ltd, to P.O.Box 13-100, Tauranga, 3030, or arrange delivery of a cash deposit to us at our base, the Tauranga Bridge Marina.
Our Cancellation Policy:
Charter Boats, Trout/Hunting Guides : deposits may be refundable under certain circumstances. A cancellation fee of $250 may apply dependent upon circumstances.
Weather and Mechanical: If the boat captain has to cancel a day(s) due to bad weather or mechanical problems an alternative booking or a full refund will be offered. Cancellation of a day(s) will be solely the captain's/company's discretion.
Accommodation / Refund: 14 days notice must be given. A 20% cancellation fee applies.
SAFETY: All our vessels come under the umbrella of the New Zealand "Safe Ship Management System", which demands each boat meets stringent standard requirements and carries all the equipment deemed necessary to ensure your safety. Boat captains are fully licensed and chosen for both their people's skills and sound knowledge of local cruising grounds.
Operators reserve the right to refuse boarding of any passenger arriving on the vessel in an intoxicated state. No refund will be made in this situation.
FOOTWEAR: White soft soled shoes are recommended for your comfort and safety. No stilettos please and no black gumboots. If you wear jandals or choose to have bare feet, you do so at your own risk.
LIABILITY: Blue Ocean Charters Ltd undertakes to perform these services with reasonable care and skill and will not be liable for any loss or damage which results from the act, default or omission of any person other than ourselves, our employees or operators, or any cause independent of human control. This includes (but is not limited to) loss or damage which arises directly or indirectly from any act of God, weather disruptions, on water event postponement, dangers incidental to the sea, fire, shipwreck, collision, boating accident, running aground, on board accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of government or other authorities de jure or de facto, or wars whether declared or not.
The client indemnifies Blue Ocean Charters Ltd against any claim made by themselves or their guests where such claim relates to loss or damage suffered due to an accident on the vessel or on account of the Operators negligence or fault.
